Where is the time to Blog?

When I first started blogging, it was when I had specific ideas about what I wanted to write about.  These were clear topics that I could spend time pulling information and doing research on.  I had windows of opportunity here and there where I could work for 15-20 minutes, and maybe a half hour during my lunch at work.  I think the real point is that I had the “vision” of my post, and what I wanted to say.

Improve your Writing with Tweets

Twitter Forces you to improve your writing
Did you ever think that your writing might be improved by posting tweets?  It’s hard to believe, but it’s actually true.

Make the most of your Space
Within the confines of tweeting, Twitter limits your postings to 140 characters.  That is not a lot of room to get any point across, especially when every punctuation mark also counts as an individual character.  If you also throw in links your space in even smaller.  Your writing needs to be short, concise, and to the point in order to make the most of that space.

Viral Marketing Strategy

Defining Viral Marketing – What is it…exactly?

The term Viral marketing or viral advertising is a marketing technique that utilizes existing social networks to produce and increase brand awareness or some other marketing goal or objective.  This is accomplished through use of a viral “self-replicating” process, similar to that of a viral disease or computer virus, in that they spread quickly and overtake everything they come in contact with.  It can take many forms, such as word-of-mouth, video clips, flash games, e-books, brand able software or text messages.  The goal is to build widespread awareness of virtually anything you choose to market.

Building a better brand

Brand Building
Building a brand is a key step in getting your “product” and or website noticed by the masses.  It not only promotes you, but highlights what makes you “special” compared to your competition.   So what is a brand, and how do I develop it?  In reality, brands are commonly perceived traits.  It is influenced by how you send your message to the public, the content of the message, and how that message is then interpreted.  It is much like creating a personality that relates to people.  How the relationship improves or changes, determines you’re “brand, and how the public sees you.  Every interaction with your audience goes far to refining that image, so it is very important to let your audience know that they have value to you.  Branding in marketing circles has done much to help distinguish very similar products and promote one to success and leaving the other to failure.

Submitting a Blogger website to Google

I have struggled with this topic for some time, as I’m sure many of you have.  What originally prompted me to look into this was the fact that my website was not showing up on Google Page Rank (http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php).   There appears to be many reasons why a page might not rank, including not being indexed, being too new, or being banned.  Needless to say I got used to seeing this response from Google Page Rank all the time.
